This and that

These days, I can't read the newspaper without starting to bawl, so in this journal, I'm sticking to the not-so-serious bits. My heart aches for all the losses and pains people are going through, and I seriously wish I could solve everyone's problems ( Read more... )

Ah, yeah. I haven't read most of those, though. But I've read Hobb, she is good. I am not too keen on Jordan, though. But I'll look, into those others you suggested.

Ahhh.... must read George R R Martin's series, a Song of Ice and Fire. Three books are out so far: A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords. Absolutely fantastic books. :D

Others.. Joanne Bertrin (interesting take on dragons), C. S. Friedman's Coldfire Trilogy. Those are the three that occur to me right now. Highly recommended. Joanne's style is similar to Mercedes Lackey and fairly easy to read.

By the way, I don't blame you for being touched by the tsunami disaster. It remains to be very horrible. *hugs*

*hugs* Yes. It's left scars both mental and physical on so many places and people. It's heartbreaking.

Agreed. For me the tsunami disaster is rather close to home, as the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia, my country was hit by the killer waves, though the death toll is way below 100 and the property damages are insignificant compared to the scenes of total devastation in Indonesia and Sri Lanka we see on TV.

Glad to know that you seem to be interested in Torment and the PS setting in general, as I've observed in recent months. :D You know, if all goes well, Lumi might eventually host a strictly planar RP full of PS goodness in the future. She couldn't do that with the Bastet RP as too many players insisted on playing Primes.

KoTOR's simply awesome. Have yet to play the second since I don't own a XBox and have to wait for the PC version, coming out next month.

Ooo...so many author's names. Gotta check them out.

*winces* Yeah...I'm glad you ar okay.

I would love to play in a Planar RP sometime. I enjoy non-primes too. *chuckles*

I feel crappy about the disaster as well. This bit helped cheer me up, though: http://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory?id=378533

Oh, I didn't know you hadn't finished the first Knights of the Old Republic. When you do, please share. :) The second game is good; I'm not finished with it yet and I heard mixed reviews, really ... it's mostly like the first game, but has a number of changes that could easily be seen as improvements or annoying. I guess if you liked the first game, you'll *probably* like the second. ;) They're still better than Episodes 1 and 2. Good luck.

My fiance has both games, and he loves KOTOR 2, so I know I will love it too. *smiles* I just have to wait until next time I visit him to play.
