(00) Chapter 1:
“Dad, do I really have to do this?” Junsu called the attention of his father he was wearing a black suit that fitted perfectly, just like his father’s attire. He pouted and lazily rested his back on the chair. “Of course, my dear son. After all, you’ll manage our company soon. Think that you’re already a professional in this line of career.” His father replied. He just sighed. He really does not like going to business meeting, well, not now since he’s just 19 years old. After all, his father is telling the truth, he’ll manage their company soon.
Junsu fidgeted his fingers. He’s bored. His hand were also cold and clammy as if he was a corpse. He took a glance at his wrist watch. It read 7:45 in the evening. They’re early for the said time. He then took a glance at his father who looked so calm, drinking his wine and patiently waiting for the guest.
“I’ll just go to the wash room.” He stood up from his seat and his father nodded.
“Hurry up. I don’t want our guests to wait. They’ll come soon.”
“Yes, dad.” He exited the room and went to the wash room.
-----
“Ah!! I am able to get out!” he uttered while walking towards the wash room. The wash room was situated at the corner of the restaurant, along the entrance. He hated the atmosphere back there. There was too much tension. He doesn’t know if they can clinch the deal.
Junsu was checking his pocket and trying to get something in it. He did not notice that a man was walking along his way. They bumped into each other, accidentally.
“Ah~ I’m sorry.” He whined but was able to apologize. He touched his shoulder since it was quite hurt due to the impact. The man, thin and with a shaggy hair almost the same height as him, looked at him with coldness that looked like he was angry at something.
“Look at your way, kid.” The man, who was also wearing a business suit. He looked like they’re of the same age. An old man was behind that man which looks like his father since they looked alike. He returned his attention and sighed, doing his business.
He washed his hands and was ready to go back to the side of his father. He looked at his watch and checked the time. It was already 8 in the evening. He was away too long! He immediately went back and from the outside of the room, he could hear echoes of laughs. It seemed that their guests were already waiting. He also could hear his father talking.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t able to go back soon. There’s something that happened outside.” He apologized, for being late, as he opened the door and made a bow as a sign of respect. His father hated lates. As he rose from his bow, it surprised him that the man he bumped into was their guest.
“Oh, come here, my son.” Mr. Kim called him. “I would like to introduce my son, Kim Junsu. Of course, my future heir.” He introduced Junsu to his friend.
“I’m very glad to meet you.”
“I am also pleased to meet you, Junsu.” The older guest said and offered a handshake. He gladly received it and sat down on his chair. “Your father is right. You had grown so much. You’re such a handsome man! I’m sure many ladies are dying for you!”
“Thank you for the compliment.”
“Well, this is my son, Park Yoochun. He’s also my only son and my only heir to my company. I gave my trust that he’ll be able to manage the company soon.” Mr. Park, the old man, said. Park Yoochun bowed as a sign of respect.
“How was your stay to Virginia, Yoochun?” Mr. Kim asked. Junsu’s eyes widen at the thought that Virginia’s located at the United States. He had never traveled yet.
“It was fine. The weather was very different. I think I like it.” Yoochun calmly replied. He had lived in the United States for quite some time. “Really? That’s good.”
As soon as Yoochun sat, Mr. Kim and Mr. Park started to talk about their upcoming partnership in business. Yoochun was actively listening but the other wasn’t. Junsu unconsciously tapped his fingertips on his thigh. He always does it. This meeting wanted him to sleep. Yoochun had noticed him. He looked at him intentionally and Junsu was alerted.
“Junsu, as a future business partner, what are your expectations?” Yoochun challenged the younger. He rested his one hand on his chin waiting for an answer.
“T-that.. haha.. I guess….” Junsu was stuttering. He was kept unalerted. He doesn’t know what to say! Their fathers had stopped talking and listened to what he’s going to say. A few more seconds, silence was evident.
“I think we should think about this thing.” Yoochun looked at his father whilst Junsu’s eyes widened in shock.
“No! I am new in this line of career but I’ll be very glad to work with you Mr. Park.” Crap. He doesn’t like this kind of situation but he had no choice. His father was beside him, listening. He had two choices, follow his father or get a detention.
“Really? Then I would like to tell you that I am glad that I’ll be working with your hotel. It’s really the best here in Korea. It’s an opportunity, right?”
“Y-yes.”
“Shall we call this a day?” Yoochun shifted from his chair. His friend actually called him. He doesn’t want to disappoint him.
“Sure!” Junsu exclaimed with a smile painted on his face. He was sure the deal was ok. Mr. Kim tapped his son’s shoulder as a sign of support. “I count on you, son.”
“See you by tomorrow.”
---
“How did you find Yoochun?” Mr. Kim asked him as soon as they came home. He sat at the couch and grabbed the newspaper. His face seemed so relax since they’ll be able to expand their business empire with the help of the Park. Who knows, they were friends since high school so it’ll not be very hard to deal with them.
Junsu stopped for a while before going to his room. “He’s fine.”
“That’s all, my son?”
“Yeah. Will you please excuse me for a while.”
“Ok, go take a rest and tomorrow is your big day.”
Mrs. Kim was just about to enter the living room when she had seen his son going upstairs.
“Junsu!” She excitedly called his son. She’s excited about his day whether he made it.
“I am going to rest, mom.”
“Let the kid rest, honey.” Mr. Kim defended his son. Tomorrow will be his son’s big day. He knew he’ll not let him down. Besides, he’ll manage the company soon.
“Ok, good night my son.”
“Good night.” He replied before going in.
Junsu sighed inaudibly. He’s mad at his father for taking away his freedom 2 years earlier from what it should be. He took a long shower instead to keep him cool down. As he got our from his bathroom, his phone was ringing. His cousin’s calling him. He answered it right away.
“Jaejoong hyung, you called?” he asked the person on the other line.
“Yeah, wanna have some fun? Yunho brought a friend along.”
“Sure.” He agreed immediately. He can’t afford that his cousin will be mad at him just for this little favor since they had really known each other since they were a child.
He closed his phone after their conversation and changed his clothes into a stylish one. He was ready to go. Since he cannot use the front door, he used his secret door instead. His parents intently decided to make a secret door for their son but as time goes by, they had forgotten about it.
He already made it. There’s another problem, the guards. He looked at his watch. It was already 9:50 in the evening. He checked if the guard was asleep….
CHECKED. He quietly exited the gate and was successful. Sometimes, guards were stupid. It’s time to meet Kim Jaejoong.
---
Kim Jaejoong was sitting at the bar sipping his beer together with his boyfriend, Jung Yunho. They’re patiently waiting for their guests to come, well, Yunho’s friend and Jaejoong’s cousin. Jaejoong rested his head on his boyfriend’s broad shoulder.
“Yunnie, what took them so long?” he complained. They’re already waiting for more than 30 minutes.
“Be patient, my dear. They’re coming soon.” Yunho replied and gave a peck on his cheek. Jaejoong blushed.
“Yah, not here!” he poked him and giggled. Instead of stopping, he did more. He embraced him and gave a trail of kisses down on his neck.
“This is a commoner’s spot. No one will check on us.”
“But Yunnie, you’re the president of Jung Corporation!”
“As I said, this is a commoner’s spot. Remember that only the oldies knows who am I. Rest assured, dear.”
“Are you sure?”
Yunho nodded. “Besides, we’ve been in this place for a few months.”
“As long as my Yunnie says it, I’ll be assured, we’re ok.”
“Jaejoong Hyung!” a shout had interrupted their conversation. Jaejoong looked at both side and found the person who called him. It’s his cousin, Junsu. He waved at him signaling to come over. He adored Junsu for his stylish fashion in spite of wearing the black suit most of the time.
“President Jung!” he respectedly bow at Yunho whe he had seen him.
“Aish, how many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me that!”
Junsu laughed at his childish act. “I’m sorry. I will not say it again.” He swore and raised his hand.
“Alright!” He also laughed and gulped onto his beer.
“What took you so long, Junsu?” Jaejoong asked him. He sat beside him since the loud music overpowered their voices.
“You know dad. He’ll not allow me to go especially nowadays sine I have a business to deal with.”
“I thought you’re not going to handle any business until you reach 21?”
“That’s what I thought.” He sighed. He called the attention of the bartender and orders his drink. He again sighed for thinking about this business. In addition, he doesn’t want to work with that Park Yoochun. He seemed arrogant. He shooked his head and for an umpteenth time, he sighed.
“I guess my friend is finally here.” Yunho blurted when he caught sight of his friend. Junsu looked at Yunho’s direction and his eyes widen in shock.
