thats a myth, really... the actual flannel to non-flannel ratio in Alaska is purely based on necessity. it's cold up there, REAL cold. Flannel is tough, and warm.
However, I suppose there could be a theory that the high flannel content could BRING more lesbians up there, but that's just speculation until further testing can produce some supporting results.
What is it about people that makes them think that gay people choose to be gay?
Okay, so, let me think here. I could live a life wherein no one would deride me for having a romantic relationship. My sexual preference would never be used to insult someone else. I would never fear violence due to my sexual preference.
OR I could choose to fear my parents reprisal, hostility of the medical establishment and religious zealots... and not have the same rights and freedoms as everyone else.
