1. The ficlet is based on the premise that K&S have a pair of biological sons. Don't ask me to explain it. I will cite alien stuff. It's not mpreg though.
2. This will probably be a series of drabbles, ficlets, and if I'm ever studious enough, fics. For a list of the parts written so far, see

This is how Jim Kirk learned to swim:
He was seven. His friends Tom and Bradley made him a dare at a birthday pool party. A lot of it was from necessity, too, because water fights tended to escalate very quickly.
Kirk took to swimming like a fish took to, well, water.
*
This is how Spock learned to swim:
He was seventeen. Starfleet Academy required all of its newly matriculated students to pass a eight hundred meter swim test. Ancient tradition. Couldn't graduate if you failed it.
Spock of Vulcan took to swimming like all Vulcans didwhich is to say, like a cat. A very strong and determined cat, but still a cat.
*
This is how their son Romy learned to swim:
Spock dropped him, sans flotation device, into the deep end of the pool.
In the few moments of him still dangling in the air and realizing his father's intentions, Romy had squirmed and squealed something in the lines of "I'm sorry Dad I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I promise I'll never be bad again oh my God please put me down what will Jim say DAD PLEASE NO".
But in reply all he got was gravity and mouthfuls of sterilized water.
His brother Sivak, who was excused from swimming lessons and thus only sat at the edge of the pool, calmly surveyed the scene and had the good sense to quote from the classic The Songs of Seleya: "Yet there are those who would profess atonement without cause. They are not to be trusted."
*
And this is how Sivak learned to swim:
Romy grabbed him by his feet and dragged him down into the pool, The Songs of Seleya still in hand and all.
