I do not have a big presence on LJ any more, at least compared to a few years back, so it was purely delightful to find and read as many birthday greetings as I did! :D
Thank you to

And thank you to

maximvanziel for your v-gift!
Thank you all for taking the time to add more delights to my special day. If I have forgotten someone I should thank or missed a post altogether, please poke me and poke me hard!
I had a great day yesterday! I'm a single girl (not by choice). Of the group of girls I hung out with for nearly 30 years, only one other girl was single most of those years along with me. That was until this past spring. So it was wonderful that she took time away from her boyfriend to take me to the nearby city for a day of shopping, drinking Starbucks Pumpkin Spice lattes, eating and seeing "Argo"! It was a large and fantastic day, even if my wallet is lighter and my credit card balances heavier.
Maybe with the onset of winter, I'll hang around LJ more than I have. I'm never too far from my laptop in the evenings, but find that time flies with chatting to friends, surfing and knitting! I was a serious knitter many years ago. I let my knitting slide in favour of cross stitching and the cross stitching was thrown in the corner in favour of the internet!
When a local department store started liquidation last spring, I purchased several balls of yarn with a thought to knitting a few cowls and something for my new great-niece. So far, I've knitted several cowls and a few scarves and am finishing a hoodie for my great-nephew. I do have a couple of projects planned for my great-niece. I had forgotten how much I like to knit. I don't have pictures of my goods to post, but I may post some pictures of the knitted items as shown with their respective patterns.
This past summer I gnashed my teeth over "Fifty Shades of Grey" read several novels including two that left me haunted by the lives that leaped off the pages into my heart:
"Every Last One" by Anna Quindlen and
"The Kindness of Strangers" by Katrina Kittle. Two emotional and fine reads.
We had gorgeous weather this past summer, but I still didn't find the time to read a lot more from my pile or make a better effort at reading
connorblond's series.
I hope you all are doing well. I know that's a rose-coloured glasses wish, but I can't help but wear those glasses often. :)
I think I got all the html coding correct! :D *sighs in relief*
Have a good week, everyone!
