...Anger is hard to write ._.
Enraged
Waspinator’s fear and pain were unacceptable.
They weren’t feelings Inferno had felt often before and they were nearly as overwhelming as the good feelings. The first time he had felt it, he had actually stopped in his tracks, frozen in place by the sheer intensity of the feelings.
Knowing that some one dared to make his partner feel that way filled Inferno with limitless anger. It didn’t matter the cause. No matter who hurt him or why…They had to be punished.
There was a day…Behind the mall, there was a dumpster…A dark evening, Waspinator throwing something away, he came out of nowhere, the nameless scum. He wanted money, he wanted to take advantage of the fragile man, he wanted something; it didn’t matter what.
What mattered was the fear; the look on Waspinator’s face, the fear in his eyes, his damp cheeks, the way he was trembling, hands shaking…And the terror; it was so real, so tangible, stifling, as Inferno burst into the alley, eyes blazing, drawn by the terrible feeling.
It was over in a matter of seconds: A glance at Waspinator to make sure he was physically okay, Inferno’s growl, his fist slamming into the wall near the man’s head, grabbing his shirt and bashing him against brick, the burning rage; how dare he; how dare he; how dare he?
Waspinator’s hand on his shoulder; the fleeting touch…He was still trembling. Inferno turned, the worthless piece of filth slipping from his fingers. All of the fury melted away as he enfolded the tiny body in a fierce hug. Behind them, the would-be thug picked himself up and ran for his life, but with Waspinator curled close, all clinging hugs and gratitude, it was as if nothing else in the world mattered.
It was gone as quick as it came. Inferno’s anger was like a wildfire; all it took was one spark for it to flare to life, consuming anything in its path. But it could be squelched as rapidly as it had begun, dampened by cooler, softer emotions until all that remained was one smoldering ember waiting to once again be fanned to a roaring blaze.
