Drabble set :3

Sep 15, 2008 19:53

All of these drabbles are 50 words apiece. They all flow together to complete a set.

Rejected

He didn’t want the cycle.

Scorponok had turned Prowl down for two reasons.

He didn’t know the cycle. They were practically strangers. And while he didn’t doubt that Prowl was nice, he did doubt that he would be as indulgent as Bumblebee.

It had to be Bee or no one.

Scared

Bumblebee had run off for many reasons, but when it came right down to it, he was scared.

He wasn’t good at being the responsible one. And responsibility wasn’t as easy to learn as Prowl believed.

And bonding -no matter what kind- was serious business.

Bumblebee was scared of failing.

Lethargic

Intake. Exhaust. Intake. Exhaust. Intake. Exhaust.

It was getting harder and harder to force himself.

Intake. Exhaust. Intake.

Process, input, data, zeroes and ones. Harder and harder and harder; his systems were running so slow.

Exhaust.

Bee would come --

Intake, exhaust, broken. Easy now - recharge, rest.

Fading.

-- He had to.

Stressed

Bumblebee knew he had to do it.

Knew he would do it.

He still didn’t want to, but what other choice did they have?

It was exceptionally stressful -- the toughest decision of his young life. It would change his life -and him- forever.

Prowl’s guilt trip only made it harder.

Drained

Bee wasn’t coming.

Scorponok didn’t have enough energy leave the burrow and say his goodbyes. He hoped his few, feeble words would reach Prowl and Taiitsu.

He hoped Bee wouldn’t feel too guilty.

He hoped going offline would be painless.

He didn’t have the energy to do anything but hope.

Relieved

“I’m sorry I made you wait.”

Bumblebee’s hands were warm against his plating. His energy field was bright and welcoming, spark pulsing with life.

Scorponok somehow found the strength to stumble towards him, curling into that warmth and thrumming weakly.

Forgive.

Forgiving was so easy. Everything would be okay now.

prowl, drabble, writing challenge, scorponok, bumblebee
