There are detailed reports out there if you want them. This is not that, although it WILL possibly be the most detail you get about the juniors. D:
Yamapi first, to get that out of the way. I did watch him a lot, because sadly he didn't use the juniors much, and I couldn't care less about the professional dancers they hired. Although I find it interesting that they had backup vocalists and some strings, in addition to FiVe.
Yamapi's good. He really is. I enjoyed it. It wasn't very exciting, but it was NICE. I think he's a good singer, I like his voice... I had to laugh at a lot of the English. I can't really understand his English much without looking at the lyrics on the screen, though. I liked the new songs that I hadn't heard, and I liked his choice of other songs to sing, from NEWS, too. Snow Express was cool with lasers. They had pointers, and all danced and did a choreographed thing with them. I totally couldn't do the dance without having the members to look at. :P
Pi doing Thriller is just total win. Actually, I WAY prefer his version vocally. And visually, actually. Not surprising.
The cart in the stands started right in front of me, but he didn't look. Boo, since I totally had my New Yorker uchiwa and he'd just given a whole talk about how amazing New York was and how it had so many people from so many places... ah well. Not like it matters.
For the song where the dancer chooses someone to go on stage... he picked a 9-year-old boy. Yamapi saw the kid and was like "Oh boy! Oh boy!" I'm not sure if he was using the expression as it's actually used in English, or just pointing out his surprise at the kid being... male. Yamapi gave him the handkerchief and told the kid to bring it back to his mother as a present.
...okay, really, enough about Yamapi already. The important part:
MIS SNOW MAN ♥
Ahhhh, they were hardly on stage at all! They did the first dance, which I swear, was choreographed by the same person who did Tama's solo, because half the moves were the same, and trust me, I KNOW. But hey, I got to see them do my favorite pointing bit, which... I totally can't explain if you haven't seen it. Ah well. <3
Their costumes for that bit were ODD. One long sleeve, and the other was like a draped panel attached at the shoulder, but it was made of some stiff material, so it didn't really hang right. I don't know, it was awkward. Anyway, they disappeared after that for AN HOUR. WTF. So like I said, I actually did watch Yamapi some.
FiVe performed, and I forget how much I like them. As much as I find Rikiya ridiculously unattractive, he SOUNDS really nice. I do hope we hit for Uchi with FiVe & Question? next month. Ishigaki's hair is super flippy, although he looks good. There were a TON of girls with his uchiwa in the section behind him, and I'm SURE they bought those seats knowing exactly where they'd be, but it's unfortunate, because they're BEHIND him. I had that for K8 once. Stared at Ohkura's back the whole time. It's a nice back, but... (^_^);
MC had Takki as the guest. It was cute. Takki looked really good! Black shoes and pants, white t-shirt, black leather jacket, those black-framed glasses he wears, although sometimes he had them clipped to the neck of his tee. Grey hat with a black band. Classy. Hot. Mmm, Takki. Okay, anyway. He kept trying to convince Pi to do "hi-hi," although I'm not sure what that is. The audience kept chanting for him to, as well, but he never did. Takki said it would be cute? Something like hi-fiving the audience? Honestly, no idea. Takki talked about the different sides of Pi, being cute, being cool, etc. Something about teaching Pi to be proper when staying in a hotel... about putting his shoes away? Idk, I was texting on my phone not so much paying attention. Pi talked about how Takki seems amazing all on his own (maybe in comparison to Yamapi?), and made a grand gesture saying, "Takizawa ENBUJOU!" Fans seemed to agree. I know I do. XD Takki advertised Kakumei a bit, both versions.
Er. I forget what else. My mind just blanked.
Anyway, Yamapi talked about the first concert he backdanced for as a junior, which was Kinki Kids, and says he still remembers the choreography, which he demonstrated by singing Kissからはじまるミステリー(kara hajimaru mystery). Started out a cappella, which was really nice! With the backing vocalists providing the harmony, of course. I'm not sure why everyone keeps reporting the song as Koi wa Mystery. Anyone know why? Because I have the Kinki Kids song in my playlist on iTunes and this is DEFINITELY what Pi sang. Koi wa Mystery is the chorus, but... *confused*
Back to juniors. MSM only did a few songs, but good ones. Daite Senorita, and hello there was hip shakin' there. XD
Oh! Sanada did something to his hair. I don't know if he got it cut or unpermed or what, but it is no longer swallowing his head. I almost didn't recognize him at first, but it's a big improvement, in my opinion. He looks really good! NabeSho's hair seems to be growing out a bit.
They were also out for things like Colorful and Fever to Future and Seishun Amigo. They didn't dance much, but spent a TON of time wandering around the stage waving to fans and stuff. Wah, wish I could have had good seats. But I swear, even when he's far away and it's not directed at me, seeing Sanada smile like that... just seeing him happy and having fun... it makes me feel like everything in life is okay. Talk about a healing smile, seriously. He was peacing and "bang!" and doing janken. His expression when he lost janken to a fan was super adorable. Unlike Tama though, he let it go and didn't insist on doing it again four times until he won.
At some point, they dropped foam... flowers? I don't know what they were, but similar to the HSJ airplane things. One of the juniors was on the side stage area, and saw them at the main stage and went running to go try to catch one. XD I couldn't see who it was, though. He picked one up from the stage and... carried it around. I thought maybe he was going to give it to a fan, but he definitely didn't. I think he just pocketed it. XD
MSM and MAD were being super silly with each other the whole time. Center stage, there'd often be a group of three to five just fooling around. Like, making a small circle around one person and that person would have to show off dance moves. Or trying to out-do each other's high kicks (and man, Sakuma can kick HIGH). Or they'd just point at each other and do random stuff. Lean in and like, do a weird three-person shimmy. In any case, they were super amusing to watch. You never get to see stuff like that on DVDs or Shokura or anywhere, and that's what I really love to see - all of them just having a blast.
MAD was Tatsumi Yudai and Matsuzaki Yusuke, definitely, so I'm guessing the other two members were probably the other Yu-chans.
Oh, right. And Yuuma showed with the rest of his entourageB.I.Shadow. Maa, Nakaken is cute, and honestly, they all looked stylish and cool. Can't say I really CARE, but if you do, then know that yes, they looked good. Not that they actually DID anything, really. Although Yuuma looks SO much better when he smiles. Which he did. It's a big improvement on his too-cool-for-you thing.
Nozawa was pretty smiley, too, which was nice. As usual, it was only at the other members and not at fans, but anyway. I like seeing him smile.
Really, just getting to watch the juniors all goof around is totally the best. It always makes it worth it. ♥
PS - For those of you who care to know, the guys look really good in just the black pants and Yamapi's tour t-shirt. I don't understand why they have to drown them in the atrocities that are most Johnny's costumes. D:
