I figure its a gamble they're taking: either release it before and everyone runs out and buys it 'cause they can't wait and they play it on their Gamecube and have no reaso to get the wii. OR they release it after and everyone has to go out and buy the Wii so they can play the game. From what I see console companies tend to favor their bigger children, IE the systems as opposed to the games, and console to console obviously they favor the newer one.
Also, they know the Zelda game will sell either way, but this way they get people to buy the Wii along with the Wii version of the game.
I personally don't have a gamecube, so I have to wait until I get a wii anyway.
