(no subject)
Words cannot describe the levels of awesome that are in this game. I can try, but it probably won't work...
(As of this writing I'm 2 1/2 dungeons in. I'll just write stuff as I remember it.)
-So far it looks like a 3 part 'phase I' quest for starters, pretty standard. Though judging from the informative mindfuck that last spirit guy gave Link, some major shit is going to hit a fan quite soon. I mean, what's this 'oh you got rid of all the Twilight' nonsense? I'm 2 1/2 dungeons in and I KNOW there's more than that. Well...at least I the player know. Link seems a little clueless still. Although if a character of questionable alignment were constantly egging me on to collect some items that have the word 'Shadow' in them, are said to contain 'dark power,' and are locked away in the middle of dungeons that people warn me not to go into because they are evil...I dunno, I'd be suspicious. I mean, how's this gonna save the world again? And Midna, isn't that helmet you're wearing kind of like these other thingies I'm collecting...? Well, he did say he'd do her a favor, what with her rescuing him that one time...
-Speaking of, Poor Link can't seem to catch a break here. There's always something. "Aha I need to get a sword and shield - crap people are throwing hawks at me." "Aha I found the last Tears of Light - crap I just blew up someone's house." "Aha I rescued my girlfriend - crap she has amnesia." "Aha I melted Zora's Domain - crap I dropped a giant flaming volcanic ROCK in their throne room." Link also seems to be quite an accomplished screamer.
-I'm loving the music, both the remixes and the new ones. The battle music in the Twilight sounds like something out of Tron and it gives me the willies.
-I'm also loving the cutscenes. I noticed they use slightly more hi-res character models in the cutscenes, but it's less obvious then Kingdom Hearts. My favorite is that one with Princess Zelda...
-I wanna find that zombie swordsguy again. Something about gold rocks, but I keep missing them, I think.
-The Zora tunic looks so badass...except for those goofy swimfin boots. :P
-The howling mechanic...I'm still out on this...looks like it could be used in an interesting way, but so far they haven't really used it much. Trying to plug out Epona's Song in modulator is pretty funny, though.
-Those squidy-Chthulu guys, the ones from the portals, are the bane of my existance. Especially when you have 3 hearts and they take off 1 per hit. That chalked up my deathcount...their battle music kicks ass though.
