Electronics are inexorably linked to the speed of light, and with it the notion of high speed. I have Battle Chess for PC. I always had it set to that mid-mode where they did everything in double-time. The animations still got boring after the first game, though.

(Excuse me, I apparently had Battle Chess Enhanced, so that setting may not have come on the original)
