I have been working on the volvo this morning, the front brake sliders on the calipers (tend) to seize up after a couple of years IF I do not apply a coating of copper grease on them, I strip them every year as a precaution and re-grease accordingly. I hope to check the rear brakes either this afternoon, or perhaps in the morning.

The Volvo's caliper sliders were given a good copper greasing when I replaced the front pads in the spring, as were the rears of the new pads and the parts of the caliper they sit in. It's good engineering practice :)
