This upsets me.

The Utility and Review Board rejects council's vote on Waterside Development proposal to demolish historic buildings.

"Plans for Waterside Centre call for tearing down four registered historic buildings on the block bound by Upper Water, Hollis and Duke Streets and by the distinctive Morse's Tea building."

I will write more about it later.

Yeah I was really upset to.
Those buildings are beautiful, and they shouldn't be torn down.

Plenty of places in the city to build new giant buildings.
Why do they have to take away what's already there?

I agree.

But what upsets me... possibly even more... is that those buildings should have been taken care of in the first place. The person who took charge of them and who now wants this development to go through has let the buildings fall into such a state of disrepair that at least one was condemned to demolition with or without the new development.

There is a huge amount of mismanagement that has happened. With the current state of affairs, something certainly needs to be done with the buildings. I'm just not sure that this development that was so loudly opposed by the community (for a number of reasons) is best suited for the job.
