Well, for those who haven't seen Girmalky's post it's confirmed that when an old oak tree lands it makes a VERY LOUD noise. Especially when the it decides to land on the house. Thanks to the high winds, it got very up close and personal to our porch and the roof above it are collapsing, multiple penetrating limbs through the roof. And to top it off ( Read more... )

Yea... but we're both okay. The cat's okay. We have insurance which, hopefully will be getting with us soon. Girmalky and friends got most of the tree off of the house, State farm encouraged this since we had pictures. And he plastic wrapped most of the holes, but I will feel better when we can get Alabama power out here. The line to the house is barely connected and actually stripped in some spots and the main grounding line was ripped out.

I understand that the Power Company is running a bit behind. Perhaps if you were to call and say "Fire Hazard", they may come quickly?

You're right..the cat current doesn't go into the living room, other than to do the obligitory smell check and then leaves. Just talked w/ the Girmalky earlier and he spoke with the Power company. They said they would be out to the house no later than 11:00pm. So we'll see how that goes.
