Scary. With some very nice touches. Has a feeling like "The Twilight Zone" - don't know if that's before your time. A sort of 'do not adjust your set, there is a fault in reality' quality. Very nice.

Really nice and, as someone mentioned, messed up. Great job with the characters. The voices sounded real and I loved the concept. Oddly dovetails nicely with a bunny that's gotten lodged in my inbox recently after watching the only season of Total Recall 2070.

Jack's discomfort and Ianto's acceptance were very, very good and very, very ouchy. The last line absolutely kills.

You mentioned this was an excerpt? Does that mean you're writing in this AU and there might be more? Just curious. :P

Thank you very much. :) I agonised over the last line, it's lovely to hear it suits. I'm very glad they still sounded in character, as well, thank you.

And I have lots of individual snapshots for this AU. The problem is that almost all of my remaining AU ABC prompts (23 more) have grown into vast universes. I'm planning on posting excerpts from each to fulfil the prompts, then adding more if anyone's interested in particular ones. :)

It makes perfect sense to me! I was going to put something like that in the initial comment; I think if there had been too much exposition that it would have distracted from the heart of the story; letting the reader fill the blanks was so effective here (and it's so rare in this fandom!)
