I'm so sorry.

That's terrible.

I know what that kind of violation feels like, and it's something I wouldn't wish on anyone. Having nice trees in the lawn is actually pretty high up on my list of must-haves when I go house-hunting, for the very same reasons you list here. It's one reason I'm not even bothering to look at new construction -- because they don't have mature trees in the lots.

Now would you please consider installing some security cameras?
