Can I just say that these are the greatest sneakers I have ever owned, and the current tragedy of my life is that they are no longer available in my size, even though I desperately need to replace mine after having worn them basically every day for the last two and a half years? BOO ON YOU, LIFE. WHAT SHALL I DO FOR FOOTWEAR NOW?? But anyway ( Read more... )

Haha, excellent idea! The only flaw is that my feet are generally too big to buy shoes in this country, b'awww (they size by millimeters here; my feet measure 260, and yet the VAST majority of stores only carry through 250 for women's sizes. O accursed fate!!! So instead I am looking at shoes online, except super freaking out about ordering anything because, since I have to order overseas, it would be pretty cost-prohibitive to ever send them back should they not fit, so THEY MUST BE PERFECT NO MATTER WHAT, and yet how can I knowwww before I try them on???? Yes I am having a legit crisis concerning online shopping. Wahhh).

I share your pain! My favourite pair were some lovely black/white spectator-style shoes with just the perfect amount of pointedness at the front and a little heel and I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLACE THEM AS THEY WERE SEASONAL MODELS FROM A CHAIN THREE YEARS AGO. TEARS FOREVERRRRRRRRR
.. it's just when you've got an article of clothing you have worn to death and cannot bear to part with (although I regularly put away stuff I don't need and I am not a hoarder!). Just this pair of shoes!

Oh the bitter taste of (clothing) mortality. :( (Actually I have a huge collection of shoes that don't fit me/are too worn out to wear. It's kind of ridiculous. In general I cycle between three pairs of shoes -- boots, flats, sneakers -- and yet there are like ten pairs of shoes in my house except I CAN'T WEAR ANY OF THEM, I JUST NEED THEM TO GO AWAY. This is also why I'm nervous about trying to order new shoes online... Boo.)
