And then there's that other little part about this being the hardest, most important test I'll take, ever ( Read more... )

don't worry. there will be other "hardest, most important exams" in the road.

right now i'm stressing about the boards which pretty much determines which residencies you'll be competitive for and what you'll be doing for the rest of your life as a doc. ick. "enjoy" the mcat while you can. you'll do fine, i'm sure of it.

take as many practice exams as you can. those are priceless.

did you find the practice mcats on the aamc site more helpful than say from kaplan or princeton?

also, did your score improve from when you started out studying for it?

thanks for the info and goodluck on the usmle.

i don't know about kaplan/princeton so much. i didn't use any of those programs and studied on my own. i did buy some kaplan practice exams, but i feel like the aamc site tests were more true to the exam (they are old exam questions after all) and i thought they were worth every penny. i also did a couple of those old essay questions a day. my scores definitely improved as i studied for it. i did a quick review of everything, did some questions/took a practice exam/whatever, and studied whatever i did bad on and focused on my weak spots. i dunno, that's what worked for me. i have yet to really figure out my strategy for the boards.

good luck!
