Hrm. Reading your email again (and having sent a reply) I wonder now if I am heading down a similar part time co sleeping path you tried - George is pretty damn persistent (I thought Sam was until I met George!) and he lurves his snuggles.
Maybe I'm best fighting it out with him for the feeds. Ugh. Needles on Wednesday, after that I'll do something. Troy gone a long day tomorrow (and it's too hot to play outside). So next weekend is looking like when I'll have a next chance to try something so plenty of time to think this through. I think I'll leave the cosleeping if I can until then and think it through more. So tired.
I get being so tired that you just want to do what works, but we've found that as soon as we 'give in' that it takes a long time to get her back into the habit of sleeping by herself.
in my opinion unless you are persistent and consistent and willing to do it FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES, including the times he begins to regress, it is not worth trying any new sleep training technique. i was too tired, and too lazy. co sleeping saved my sanity. Jem had exactly the same sleep pattern - i hated my life after 4am. at least i could sleep while he nursed.
