I never seem to post in this thing and when I do, it's usually me being pissed off. Why?

Look, this online world? Not very hard to comprehend. You have computers, you have words, you have people behind said computers, fingers clacking away at the keys like you do. You all have feelings, have something of a brain and hopefully the right common sense and decent upbringing most of the general population would ( Read more... )

Are you talking about people on their own journals? Or people on forums? Because it goes both ways, too. If people trust you enough to talk about serious things and put you on their friendlock filter or whatever, they think you can be trusted with that bit of information. It's their responsibility to say "Hey, I don't want to hear about this." You know? What is a journal for but to write your innermost thoughts in?

I try to make it very clear that I'm going to write whatever I want in my journal, and if someone doesn't like it, then they don't have to friend me. Why should I change for anyone else? It's my journal and I'll be damned if I don't write whatever I want. God knows I don't pay for this for other people. Just my $.02, of course, and I do understand that there's a "reasonable" line that needs to be drawn, but I still say caveat lector rather than that any writer needs to censor themselves in any way.

Oh, I think I might have required that clarification but like you said, it goes both ways on both those channels and I agree. But I guess in this situation it was ALOT of shit stirring that was TOTALLY un-necessary and ugh, just really fustrating cause like, they bitch out loud and then when there's back lash they go crying to their friends and then you know how it goes. And you're just sitting there watching this and going...what?

I guess censoring, I mean sometimes if things don't have to be said, don't say them. If you feel that you need to air it, so be it. It differs but sometimes, silence is best cause man, if the other side ain't gonna get you - you're just wasting that breath.

Ugh, I'm just really lakjlakjflakjdlsa - ed right now. :[ Am I making any sense? I don't mean to sound all in your face or anything. =_=;

No, I totally understand, dearie, just whenever someone tells me personally that I shouldn't have said something, I'm all, well, maybe you shouldn't have read it. XD But only because I use cuts and filters and such. Like I said, I agree there's a limit and there's standards of behavior. And of course, sometimes people just suck. *G*
