Why would it fuck you up? I would think it would be so much more enlightening/amazingly true because it's so innocent. Like, he's not quoting a proverb, but it's just like a proverb. I find the perspective fascinating, because it's not the cliche "you don't know a person until you've seen how they treat their inferiors," or "you don't know someone until you've spent a night in the woods together" or something like that. The kid's stating an observation that's universal: recess is the equivalent of a neighborly cook-out, etc. I loved it. I hear all these great comments from kids walking by and just talking!!
