Fighting Demons: Chapter 4 "Conversations"

Jan 09, 2008 18:47

I'm doing things a little differently this time out.  First of all, I gave the fic a name and all the chapter titles will now be listed as chapters.  Hope that's okay, but I think people will be able to understand the idea that this is all one story if I do that, rather than just a lot of little stories.  Also, I am linking everything to my journal ( Read more... )

dresden files, supernatural, fighting demons, fanfic50 prompts

Thanks for the review. You're always so good to do a review and I do appreciate it. Yes, the boys will find out that there is magic in the world. I would think they'd be more open to it than most, but I guess we'll have to find out as the story unfolds. Thanks for reading.

All I do is wait around until there's a new chapter up. I don't have to write it, I figure the least I can do is comment. ;)

I love how nicely you're doing the bais towards "only hunting with magic". Poor Harry sounds like he's been tangling with something nasty. I love Sam's come back about tall men. Wonderful chapter!

Thank you very much for the review. That particular conversation/theme will fade away in the next chapter, I think, as I don't want to belabor the point. But that aspect of Supernatural has always struck me as a bit strange -- I mean, they are DEMON/GHOUL/VAMPIRE/GHOST hunters for heaven's sake, and yet they seem to refuse to believe in any sort of God-like intervention when it seems that that would be a natural extension of what they do (as does Harry, interestingly enough). I also read somewhere (in some promotional material I think) about how the writers consciously shied away from using any sort of "magical powers" because they wanted the tone of the show to be very hands-on and gritty. So, I thought that it would make sense for them to be very suspicious of anything they couldn't physically see or handle. Harry, however, will be trying to prove them wrong.

Anyway, I'm glad you're enjoying the story. I'm having a great time writing it.

The lack of belief-works for me. I hadn't thought of it but it is very different than most supernatural stuff. It always seemed to me that they didn't believe because they, especially Dean, wouldn't trust anything that might not be available. It's going to be fun watching Harry try to change their minds.

Hmm, I really like this! And I love the title! I have a lot of trouble coming up with titles. Anyway, I liked finally being able to see them talk! It'll be interesting to see how they work together. Great job!

I'm glad you are enjoying the story and I really appreciate your taking the time to review. I hate picking titles as well because I feel like once you pick, you can't go back and change it, so you better pick right the first time -- that's probably not true, but I always have a bit of nerves in the stomach as I commit to one. It will be fun to see them work together. I think the story has been loads of fun so far and I'm excited to keep writing on it.

I'm glad you are enjoying the story. It's fun to write. And yes, their universes combine quite easily if you start thinking about it, other than the magic/non-magic thing, but that's dealt with easily enough. (Don't give away my secret, though! Just kidding!) Thanks for taking the time to review.

I like! I've seen a couple of Dresden-Supernatural crossovers, but this is the best by far! Can't wait to see what happens next, so please post soon!
