He's been my neighbor for 20yrs. I've known him since 1974 though. He's been more family then a neighbor. A week and a half ago he took a tumble out back. He did his usual of trying to foof off that he was hurting. At 86yrs old and all the medical issues he had, I knew he couldn't treat it lightly. Made him call his niece. I'm so sorry for your loss. Falls in old people can spiral downhill quickly, I worry about my gdad, who will be 88 next month, every day. Sounds like Oscar was a really special guy. *hugs*

What kills me is that he tripped over those self same bricks in his garden back in November. Back then though I was there and caught him so all he got was a bruised knee. This time the only one in the back yard with him was our across the street neighbor and he was too far away at that moment to catch him.
