Oh Iggy Pop - that was magnificent - kinda like a strange dream banging around in a closet. Very beatnick - its oddness made me happy.

They were pretty close to what later was called Punk. I'd say the first pre-Punk bands were Sky Saxon and the Seeds and Iggy and the Stooges.
