I love the gentle flow of this story; it's a very sweet developing friendship, and I can see Severus and Luna traveling happily together for some time. :)

I'm glad you liked this. I like the idea that they're going to be away from those who bullied and teased them all through their respective childhoods.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate the chance to be part of this wonderful exchange this year.

Thank you!

They both are such loners in their own ways that this seemed a good way to show them becoming dependant upon each other. Sending them traveling seemed a good idea. I like them being out of sight of the society that once bullied and laughed at them.

Thanks again! I really appreciated the chance to be part of the exchange this time around. It was a real treat.

I love the way the story develops the relationship with letter spiced with occasional personal visits. I can see it advance even if Luna needed to be hit on the head to realize that he returned her feelings. Severus had to be subtle in his spying, I guess that's why he was so obtuse; but he was never subtle in personal dealings with the students, staff, and Order members and I guess that's why Luna didn't catch on to his subtlety. I loved this story.

There's subtle and there's subtle. Snape often used words in an ironic way so that by his tone of voice you knew he meant something completely different. It wouldn't carry over in a letter so well. Luna tends to see things more literally, which would cause her to misunderstand his meanings from time to time. I think he helped her to look under the surface a bit more, while she taught him to be a bit more direct.

Thank you! Trickie Woo requested the snake-skin boots a couple of years ago, and they're fixed in my mental fanon, now. I'm glad you enjoyed the ending, too. ;)

Snape and Luna truly are misfits, are they not? Lovable, misunderstood, intelligent, serendipitous misfits. This story illustrates that fact most lovingly, in a thoroughly enjoyable manner. Job well done.

loved this - beautiful development of their friendship, which I just love - great to see them relating to each other as adults, with post-War problems and all that entails.

Thank you! It was important to me that they relate to each other as adults before a romance could start. She's always old in my mind, seeing things that the kids her age just didn't understand, but I wanted them to experience each other outside the world of school before they fell in love.
