88. Arab In America by Toufic El Rassi. This graphic novel is something of a mix between a personal memoir and a polemic about American attitudes towards Arabs and Muslims. It doesn't quite succeed as either, but it works a little better as the latter, bringing attention to cases like Maher Arar's and the truly shameful story of the Kesbeh family's deportation. Why we feel that stories like this can be forgotten while we remind each other of 9/11 every ten minutes is something I will never understand.
