jobs, jobs, jobs

Just once, I would like to find something I'm good at.  Not great even, just good.  And it would be oh so nice if I could actually manage to make a living (and no, not a grand one) at this something.

I just lately seem to be pretty below par on everything.  And working hard at it too!

Where is your guidance councilor when you need one?

Partying with mine, the selfish gits.

I found out I was unexpectedly good at gym stuff - really technical things that actual athletes couldn't always do. This was surprising because I used to be a dedicated sofa ornament, and a bit wary of exercise in case the cool kids giggled. That's a longwinded way of suggesting you find something you've always felt a bit nervous of trying in case you fail, and giving it your best shot ever. You'll probably do better than you think, and it's good for the confidence to try.

(I only woke up a minute ago. The coffee isn't cool enough to drink yet. Forgive me if I totally misunderstood...)

I'll bet they are indeed off having a grand ole time! Selfish indeed!

I was thinking more in terms of a brand new career, but maybe your suggestion is the right one after all. Just being good at something might take some of the sting off the work failures. hmmm, new hobby.......

I'm no help here. I don't feel like I ever found my niche. Last job at the peds office was close though.I think I may be good at volunteering. I'm as of now officially retired...

See, I think being retired might be the career for me! But it seems I have to suffer at something else first.

bleh.

And congratulations on being retired! How's that going?
