This sitiuation could and should have EASILY been avoided if the school would have had a little common sense and followed very simple safety procedures. It's called the fact that after a long while of nothing happening in a certain place you become more relaxed and don't really pay much attention, which is the worst possible thing to do. Although I agree that all of this could have been avoided by following the proper safety procedures, there's nothing that can be done at this point but to try to pick up the pieces and move on. Criticising what went wrong isn't going to get anyone anywhere.

I don't mean to interrupt the conversation, but I had something I wanted to say. Though there May have been mistakes in the way the situation was handled, they did lock down West AJ dormitory for over an hour until they had a suspect in questioning and believed all was well. And in a situation like that, when the shooting was in the dorms themselves, it doesn’t make any sense to send students make to their dorms where the threats were to begin with. I do agree perhaps they should have advised the students to be more cautious, but they had no reason to suspect a massacre, and if he wanted to kill people, he would have found a way to do it ( ... )
