Project Love : Chapter 1
Title: Project Love

Summary: Mr. Brain and Mr. Popular thinks they have nothing in common. But a certain BIRD change all that!
A/N: For those who are curious, I got the inspiration to write this when I read a certain book but I won't be copying the whole thing so don't worry... I just borrow the project which the professor assigns to them coz I love what it symbolizes.

Chapter One:
“Kame are you listening to what I'm saying?” Yamapi irately ask his friend while shaking his shoulder.
“Yeah I’m listening Pi” a soft voice answered.
“No you’re not. You’re busy ogling at Mari all this time” stated Pi
Kazuya diverted his gaze from the girl who’s chatting with her friend just a few seats away from him and looked at his friend.
“Me? Staring at Mari? You must be joking.” defending him self. And this made his friend laugh out loud causing some of their classmates to look at their direction.
Pi bow in apology and whispered to the man sitting besides him. “No joke. I can almost see stars in your eyes” he smirked
The younger one blushed hearing this and it only made his friend laugh even more “you got a really bad case of Mari-litis” and this earns a hard whack on his head.
When he saw their professor enter the room he immediately stop thumping his friend's head and focus his attention in front of the class ignoring the weird snickering at his side.

“Good morning Jin”
“Ah good morning Kimura sensei” greeted by the boy as he bows in respect to his teacher
“Congratulations for winning last week’s contest”
“Thank you very much sir” Jin simply answered as they start walking towards their classroom.
Upon reaching it, Jin quietly walk towards his desk, took out his book and start reading, waiting for the class to formally begin.

“Ok class, we will be having a research project and I want you to do your best.” Kimura sensei announced.
A loud groan echo in the entire room as their teacher walks around and explain what would be the set up.
“First, I'll assign you by pair so it would be easier. ”
The class somehow starts to listen when they heard the word “pair” because it means the work will be divided.
“Second, I will be drawing the names. So it would be fair for everyone” A chorus of moan was once again heard but now it's louder than the previous one.
“I pity who will be paired up with Akanishi” someone whisper somewhere at Kazuya’s back.
“And lastly, I want your reports on my desk in 4 weeks time.”
When the class didn’t protest with this, Kimura sensei started with their lesson.

'Why can’t she look at me the way she looks at those other guys?' Kazuya sighs as he stares at Mari's back.
He gets to know her personally earlier that year. Maybe it's love at first sight if there is one. But the minute he laid his eyes on her, he knew he wanted to date her and wanted to be the perfect guy for her. However, Mari doesn't seem to be interested in him.
“KAMENASHI KAZUYA!” A loud voice interrupted his daydream and when he looks up he saw his teacher looking curiously at him. “Do you have an answer to my question?”
Kazuya blushed as he tries to remember if he heard the question but after a few moments, he weakly replied “I’m sorry sir. I didn’t seem to hear your question.”
The class tries to suppress their laugh as the teacher exasperatedly said “Your mind is already wandering around? You must be really excited with the project.”
And this made the boy in question wants to crawl under his desk and stay there until their class ends.
“Ok, Akanishi san kindly answer the question”
Jin stood up and face their teacher “Ornithology is a branch of zoology that concerns with the study of birds. It comes from the Greek word: ornis or ornithos, meaning bird and logos means knowledge.”
“Very well said, thank you Akanishi san. I hope you jot that down Kamenashi san” the teacher look at Kazuya’s direction and gives him a firm look before heading towards his desk again.
“Way to go Kame…” murmured Pi then he said “remember the word… Ornithology” then he snicker
‘Why does Akanishi have to sound like a freaking encyclopedia all the time’ Kazuya pout as he writes down what his classmate just said.

“Okay, now I’ll be drawing your names. So first and third row I'll put your names in this box then your partners will be either on the second or fourth row. By the way, I’ll be calling in random so I’ll just note it on my record book.” then he starts picking out the names.
“Ueda Tatsuya” he calls out
“Hai!” came an answer from the last row
“Your partner will be” he looked at the piece of paper in his hand “Taguchi Junnosuke”
Tatsuya wave at him and Junno just smiled back.
“Ok next, Nishikido Ryo”
“Here!” Answered Ryo from the second row
“Your partner will be Hayakawa Mari”
Yamapi give Kazuya an apologetic smile coz he know that even if the latter won't say it out loud, he wants to be partnered with that girl.
“Next, Yamashita Tomohisa”
“Yes sir!” Yamapi enthusiastically answered
“Your partner will be Nakamaru Yuichi.”
Kazuya wonders who will be his partner. Hopefully he won’t be stuck with someone totally boring or over talkative.
But when he heard Tanaka Koki's name and he was paired with Ishihara Emi, he starts to get nervous.
“Kamenashi Kazuya?” at last he heard his name being called
“Yes sir”
“Your partner is” he looked at the slip of paper in his hand then a huge smile can be seen on those lips
‘Oh Oh…’ Kazuya silently pray but he had a really bad feeling about this.
“Your partner will be…” then his teacher grin even bigger before announcing “Akanishi Jin”
‘Great!” the young boy grunted as slouch down into his seat.
