“Akihiko what do I mean to you?” Yuuki out of the blue asked his lover as they sat on the couch at their living room.
“You’re the most important person in my life” the other promptly answered.
“Do you honestly mean that?”
“Yes of course”
Yuuki glanced at him for a moment then turn his attention back at the TV screen. But after a few minutes he asked “All these years we’ve been together, are you being truthful to me or not?”
“Yes of course” Aki once again answered
“Are you sure with that?”
This time Akihiko sense that there’s a meaning behind these series of questions “What are you trying to say here Yuuki chan?”
To his surprise the person he’s talking looked at him with a cold glint in his eyes then stood up and retrieved something at their side table before throwing it on Akihiko’s lap.
“Then explain to me, why you tampered my journal.”
No, he’s not asking him question, he’s commanding him to explain. Akihiko face turn pale and he felt his body getting numb as he stares at the piece of diary in his lap.
“Yuuki I can explain….”
“All these time we’ve been together. For more than 2 years we’ve been together, you made me believe on something or SHOULD I SAY SOMEONE WHO DOESN’T REALLY EXIST!”
“Please Yuuki listen to me…” once again Akihiko tries to get through Yuuki’s incoherent mind.
“WHY SHOULD I LISTEN TO YOU? YOU, WHOM I THOUGHT IS MY BEST FRIEND, YOU WHO SAID YOU LOVE ME, YOU WHO I BELIEVE WILL ENLIGHTEN ME ABOUT WHO THE HELL HAYATO IS IN MY LIFE.”
Akihiko felt a thousand blocks at the pit of his stomach as he listens to his lover’s angry accusations.
“BUT I’VE REALIZE THAT I WAS WRONG TO BELIEVE YOU! COZ THE MOMENT I WOKE UP FROM THAT ACCIDENT, EVERYTHING YOU’VE TOLD ME ARE ALL LIES! BUT NOW I KNOW EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING”S CLEAR NOW…”
Hearing this, Akihiko know that it’s time to finally face his greatest fear. The moment he’s been dreading all these years.
“THE REAL REASON WHY I’M IN THAT HOSPITAL BED IN THE FIRST PLACE….IS BECAUSE OF YOU… THE PERSON WHO ALMOST KILLED ME IS..... YOU”
Tears starts to well up when he heard these hurtful words from the person who meant the world to him.
“Yuuki ple-please let me explain, please.” Akihiko stammer as he tries to reach for Yuuki’s hand but the latter move away from him and stare back at him with an accusing gaze.

“Noooooooo!!!!!!!!!!”
Akihiko stood still as he watched the scenes unfolds right in front of his eyes. Paramedics checking for pulse, Yuuki’s body being put in the stretcher and traces of blood. His eyes followed the ambulance as it starts to drive off then glanced back at the scene where he last saw Yuuki stood a while ago…
‘He’s about to cross the street but when he saw me he panic and didn’t noticed that the light turns green. It’s my entire fault.’
Akihiko starts to walk back towards their used to be apartment when Yuuki’s memories flashed through his mind.
The day they met in high school. Their promise to each other that they’ll be together after graduation. Yuuki going against his family’s wishes for him to move abroad to continue his studies just to be with him. Their plans of getting married in the future and happy moments they shared together.
Then another set of memories flash through his mind. His broken promises, the heart aches he caused to the young man, his other woman and Yuuki’s tears when he learned about their affair and lastly the sight of Yuuki walking out of his life…
These memories are the reason why instead of continuing to walk home, Akihiko finds himself running so fast as if his life depends on it toward the direction of the hospital where know he’ll find the one person he can only call home.
And when he saw Yuuki’s condition, it’s like huge avalanche crash into him. Coz every bruises and every cuts that Yuuki have are payments for his actions and infidelity.
So as he seat there looking at his lover’s almost trampled body he pray so hard for God to give him a chance go make up for all the pains he caused the one person who’s been there for him all the time.
‘I’m sorry. I come to realize that I can’t live without you. Please don’t leave me. Please Yuuki’
When the doctor told him that it’s possible that Yuuki will have amnesia, somehow it’s a consolation for him coz he knows that somehow he can make up for his wrong doings in the past.
And true enough, the young man woke up without memories of the past, Akihiko proceed with his plan.
On the same day Yuuki woke up, he moved out from their old apartment and sold everything that will make his lover remember. Even the clothes that were in Yuuki’s bag on the day he left, Akihiko discharge them all afraid it will trigger memories.
Then lastly Yuuki’s diary, after Akihiko read the entries as Yuuki lay unconscious on the hospital bed, he realize how horrible he was towards his lover and how hurt Yuuki was with the careless and heartless actions he had done.
Thanking the good heaven coz Yuuki only used a pencil as he wrote his entries; Akihiko carefully erased his name and change with another name… Hayato…. So that if in case Yuuki will see it and read it, he can easily say that Hayato is no longer around, abroad maybe.
He wanted to start all over again with Yuuki. And the only way to make that happen is to forget the painful yesterday that Yuuki experience.

“I did it… I did all of it because I don’t want to lose you. I realized my mistake when you’re no longer by my side and I wanted to make up for it. Honestly half of me wanted for you to remember who I really am in your life. But the other half is happy that you can’t remember anything, because it only means I can make it up to you without you doubting my intentions.”
“Make it up to me? By showering me tons of lies? Is that how you atone for your mistakes in the past? Is that how you define your love for me? Then I say I don’t believe that you really love me.”
“Yuuki please believe me… I love you! I love you so much!” Akihiko cried in an almost defeated tone.
“If you really love me, like you said you do, you should have faced the consequences of your previous actions rather than weaving a make believe life to cover up the ugly past.”
Yuuki look at him straight in the eyes with tears trailing down his face before turning around stepped out and slams the front door shut.
