You all deserve to have them back. Right now we don't know what's possible. Her quote: "Remember that the team with the most points gets their Christmas wishes delivered!" That could potentially mean more than one wish per team or that one member's gift could be all the animals. As long as she's not being specific..

I agree with your idea, but I think you need to be specific on some parts with the wording of the wish. It should probably be along the lines of "All animals birthed from the human inhabitants of this place returned alive, unharmed, and unaltered."

...Or something like that.
