After a discussion with Kristy, I decided to quit work'n at Edison. I think that was the right choice because it wasn't helping me. But what now ( Read more... )

Hang in there! I know what it's like to not hear back from anyone and how depressing it can be. I think the best thing you can do is just hound them (in a friendly way). So call them up and ask when you can expect to hear back from them. If you haven't heard back by the date they say then call again.

I think you'll be better off without Edison. And I know how much job hunting sucks, it seems like it always lasts months...just get as many applications out as you can. Maybe look into nannying? I know a lot of those places pay around $15/hour. And it's kind of education related. Or else, see if you can get into subbing as a paraprofessional? I know you aren't thinking special ed, but almost all calls I've gotten are to work with kids with learning disabilities in the general classroom. I've not helped one person with the bathroom since I started subbing. So that might be another good education related option. And you should totally look at some other education programs, any of the ACTC schools, as backup...
