Phew. Done. This final chapter is almost certainly full of mistakes, absolutely definitely full of angst and may not make sense, but, you know, DONE. YAY.

I think the whole fic clocks in at around 80,000 words all told. Never again. Seriously. Not ever doing this again.

First I wanna say thank you so much for sending the PDF! And second, I finished the story all in one go today (even though I TOTALLY should be been doing other things but your fic was wayyy too awesome to put down... \TOT/)

This was an amazing, beautiful, delicate and humane look at Erik and Charles and all the other characters. You have really written wonderfully from Erik's POV--one of the best I've read so far! Seriously, so amazing. Very believable and sympathetic, capturing his anger, rigidity yet uncertainty, his confusion, his sadness and hurt, his passion, his love. It's so powerful and it was believable every step of the way. All of them are so adult in certain ways yet so young, so innocent, and aughhh I just blubbered all the way through the end, especially since I read the Wikipedia page BEFORE I actually the fic (stupid me ( ... )

I also want to mention, and I hope I'm not coming off too strong, but have you considered putting this on AO3? I usually troll through AO3 and if not for someone's rec list, I never would have found this wonderful fic. I really think it deserves to be shared with more people over at AO3 (and then you wouldn't have to send people the PDF like you did with me--seriously, thank you again for that! haha ;D)

Hi! Wow, thanks for the lovely comment, I'm really glad you enjoyed the fic, especially enough to read it all in one go - quite a feat!

The Wikipedia page is agonising, isn't it? Tawabids wrote it for me before the fic was even finished, and it was amazing how much of the future she imagined matched up to what I was writing. I really wish they could have got their happily ever after ending, the one I intended to give them when I started, but by about half way in I guess I knew it wasn't going to happen. Still, seeing all their tragedies written down in black and white was sooo sad! (I got surprisingly emotionally invested in this version of Erik ( ... )

OH MY GOD, thank you so much, that is amazing! I'm on tumblr so I'm squeeing out over it crazily in a reblog, but, wow, this is just so nice because a friend and I were playing around with this fic's characters again literally two days ago and remembering it, and now look! Someone else remembers it too!

:D :D I AM SO HAPPY TO HEAR THAT YOU LIKE IT! I saw your reblog! You probably noticed that it's taken me a few days to reply, I just needed to get my barrings together, haha.

You should play with these (young and old!) gentlemen more often! You write them beautifully!

Your fic is always on my mind! It's on my recs list and everything! It has the perfect blend of romance, drama, comedy, and angst, so, many kudos to you for really blending all of these seamlessly. :D

By the way! In reply to something you said on tumblr: I personally think the second half of the story (if you meant the whole Human/Mutant "quiet battle" going on) was actually very well handled. It wasn't overbearing to the overall arc of the story and you handled it delicately.

So yeah, just my two cents! <333

I TOTALLY LOVE IT. The friend I was talking to about it flipped out as well and wants me to make her a bound copy with that cover to put on her bookcase. I went through your back-catalogue of covers too (you've done them for some of my favourite XMFC fics) and I was totally blown away. You capture the spirit of the fic perfectly and each one is such a beautiful piece of design.

Thanks for the reassurance about the second half of Late Bloomer! Yes, that's the part I meant - all Erik and Charles's many ideological arguments and the ending in general. I had the most horrendous time writing it, and I reread it maybe a year later and winced SO MUCH, but I guess it's different seen from the outside. It's really nice to know that it worked for you!
