DAD!
Guess what? Guess what?! A girl at school has got an owl and it’s laying EGGS and she wants me to take PHOTOS! Isn’t that brilliant?! Owls are SO cool! I told you about Harry's, didn't I? I must have! Harry’s got a really cool one!! Dad, Dad, you know about birds, right? The girl - she’s called Susan - she’s got a Great Gray owl! Do you know about them? Are they in your book? I remember you used to take me and Dennis bird watching in those funny huts but I don’t remember seeing any owls! I liked the binu binoculurs though! They were COOL! Do you think they’d let me have some at school? Do you? Do you think anyone would mind?
Anyway, Susan wants me to take photos of the baby owls when they hatch! How brilliant is that?! I hope they’ll be all gross and SLIMY! Will they? Do you know? Have you got any pictures?! I said I’d take photos of them when they’re all clean and everything as well! Girls don’t like slime, do they Dad? Why not?! I bet Dennis’d like it! I hope Susan lets him see them too! I’ll ask her! I can’t WAIT until they hatch! I’m going take photos of the eggs as well, oh and I can take LOADS of pictures as they grow up! I can send you some so you can see! Oh! Oh! I can make a SCRAPBOOK!! I bet Susan would like one, wouldn’t she?! Scrapbooks are brilliant! Has Mum still got all of mine in the loft? Don't let her throw them away! Oh, Dad, it gets EVEN BETTER! Susan said I can have one of the baby owls if I want! Can I? Can I? Please?! How brilliant is that?! I promise I’ll take better care of it than the hamster! It wasn’t my fault anyway! You know Mum hoovers too much! It’ll live at school most of the year so Mum won’t have to worry about feathers or anything! And I promise to keep it tidy in the holidays! I promise! I’ll share it with Dennis too! Can I? Imagine all the photos I can take if I have my OWN!! I can show Harry! BRILLIANT!!!
Got to go, Dad! I want to tell Dennis about the eggs!
