Dad!
How are you? And mum? It’s a shame about the binnoculars, isn’t it? Oh well! I don’t mind really, because school is a lot harder this year already, and guess what?! Guess what? Remember I told you I was going to take pictures for a girl at school? Susan? Of her baby owls? Remember? Well, we went yesterday to take pictures of the eggs, and one had HATCHED! It was BRILLIANT! It was only a little bit slimy, but nevermind! Susan was really happy! And she probably wouldn’t have liked it if there was a lot of slime, would she dad? The rest of the eggs should be hatching soon! Maybe the rest will be slimier! I can’t wait to take more photos! Oh, look at this, dad! Look at this! Here’s a picture of the first baby!
See? Isn’t it COOL? Look at its face! It looks REALLY moody, doesn’t it?! I’d be moody too if I’d just had to break out of an egg! It’s probably really hard work! Is it glaring at you? It did at me! I don’t think it liked the flash! I tried not to scare it too much, but EVERYTHING is probably really scary if you’ve just been living inside an egg, isn't it?!!
I can’t wait until they grow up and I can have one! Say thanks to mum for saying yes! Tell her I PROMISE I’ll look after it really, REALLY well! It’s going to be brilliant! I’ll have to think up a name for it and everything! I’ll start making a list!!!
