Dad!
You know the eggs? Susan’s owl’s eggs? Guess what? More have hatched! They’re so brilliant! Me and Susan went to the owlery to try and take more pictures, and LOOK!
Aren’t they the best? There was a bit more slime this time too! It was even COOLER! I think it must have been because more had hatched! More eggs equals more slime, right, dad?! It must be so brilliant to live inside an egg with all that cool slime, even if it is all dark and squashed in there! They look just like a big ball of cotton wool, don’t they? They must be very good friends - they're practically sitting on each other! But then they probably don't care about being squashed, do they dad? I mean, they've just come out of an EGG! I tried to get them to move a little for the photo so you could see them properly, but Athena really wasn’t happy! I don’t think she likes us at the moment! Was mum moody after she had me?! Athena's BRILLIANT and REALLY scary sometimes! I bet it’d really hurt if she pecked you with her beak! I don't think I want to find out! We’re going to go back soon and take some more photos when they’re a bit older - hopefully I’ll be able to get closer then! Are all mums so fussy about their babies?!
Oh! And guess what, dad?! Me and Dennis are going to go and see the owls at the Post Office in Hogsmeade on the next visit! It’s really soon! Two days! I’d like to learn more about owls before the owlets grow up and I can have one of my own! I want to look after it properly like I promised mum I would! Tell her! They have MILLIONS of owls there so I bet they’ll know loads about them! I’ll try and take lots of photos for you - I bet they’ve got ones that you’ve never even heard of!! Not even in your books! I can’t WAIT to go! Oh, and I asked Susan to come too! I think she wants to go and see the owls as well! She seems really excited about seeing them!
