Cover your mouth to hide the sound of your tears

Another one. Constructive critism welcome <3.

I've been speaking in tongues, you've stripped me down to my heart
Tell me that I'm worth it and mean every single word
Didn't you know it all fell apart, we were driving into ditches from the start
You know you're not supposed to believe everything you've heard
Everything you've heard

Walking down the path together hand in hand
Periodically stopping, you'll let go
I turn back and ask you why, you say, "you need to learn how to stand"
But I need you to stay with me, for how long, I don't know

I'm tired of the disappointment sitting on their tongue and behind their eyes
I promise you I'm faking nothing, this is all genuine
And I promise you, that none of my words are lies
But you tell me you're just concerned of an underlying problem

The loneliness is shattering the silence in the air
But the silence was never anything more
Take a long walk in my shoes, then tell me how you feel - your words are hardly fair
And when you leave, make sure you're not trampled by the door

Walking down the path together hand in hand
Periodically stopping, you'll let go
I turn back and ask you why, you say, "you need to learn how to stand"
But I need you to stay with me, for how long, I don't know

The rope is tightening around my throat - I can't breathe, I can't breathe
Don't wait for me to fight back, I'm through with that
Did you know that those short months were such a tease
And I'm so sorry, I'm being beaten for messing up the format
I was never good enough
And I will never be good enough

Walking down the path together hand in hand
Periodically stopping, you'll let go
I turn back and ask you why, you say, "you need to learn how to stand"
But I need you to stay with me, for how long, I don't know

Walking down the path together hand in hand
Periodically stopping, you'll let go
I turn back and ask you why, you say, "you need to learn how to stand"
But I need you to stay with me, for how long, I don't know

I was never good enough
And I will never be good enough
