Yeah dude, that's the way life works. Fortunately and yet unfortunately, a relationship requires at least two people to be possible, and because of that, you really have a low ability to predict the outcome of events. You have control of 50% of it at most, which would be your input. Human relations is an eternally complex circumstance though, so yes, you should toughen up your skin and get used to it if you want to pursue any relationship of any kind because that's how it is and will always be
