There is blood on her lips. Iron wine that stains. Her eyes are glassed over, but they stare up at him, wide and frozen. Death has stripped her of all her defenses - lies and secrecy. The simple truth - she is just another broken woman.
I could not save you Jack whispers against her brow. If she were alive, she’d praise him for his growth.
