One of my LJ/FB friends, greg_andrea , had her house burn down this past week. :( She and her husband have several cats they were looking to rehome anyway as they planned to move, but now it has reached a critical stage. (Nov. 28) -- One thing on Quinn Roberts' Christmas wish list last year wasn't a typical request for a 7-year-old. Quinn wanted a new kidney.

(Nov. 6) -- Ten-year-old Alex Whitehouse of Turner, Maine, never thought he'd need to use the Heimlich maneuver so soon after learning it in Cub Scouts.
But last week, when Alex's 4-year-old brother, Drake, was jumping on a bed in his bedroom and eating a Tootsie Roll, Alex had to come to the rescue, local TV station WCSH6 reported.
