Lots has happened.

22nd of February we moved out of the house in Eastcote. We went to dinner in East One in Edgware and then took the coach from Golders Green to Stansted,. Once at Stansted we, that is me and my mother, took a taxi to the Delasis hotel. There, we found a nice room that was supposed to be a twin but was actually a two roomed suite, ( Read more... )

Thinks someone needs to growup a bit before traveling in foreign countries again!

Easy to say stuff like that when protected by anonymity, I see.

I've done plenty of travelling and plenty of growing up.

Firstly, hello! I noticed you added me... Don't think we've spoken before. :)

Secondly, sorry you had so many problems in Venice. I'm going there in April... It'll be my first time on holiday alone (well, without the parents.) How was it overall? Any places you recommend or don't? I don't suffer rude people very well but now I've had a warning I might be able to tolerate, heh.

No, we haven't spoken before. I added you because of the awesome GSR mood icons - I wanted to publicly thank you for them and knew you wouldn't see it unless I added you.

I realised after I made the post that I hadn't actually said anything about Venice. It was lovely. I didn't get to go to many museums (although I did visit the Jewish ghetto) because I was with my mother who's not really interested in that. The feel of Venice is very different to the rest of Italy - i dislike all of Italy that I've seen apart from Venice (I've been to Piza, Turin and Genoa).

Tips: if you're going to go on a Gondola, look around for the best price - it's extortionate how much they charge. Are you travelling alonealone or with friends? Try to get a gondola with a few people because then it'll work out cheaper.

Oh, and don't stay in a hotel out of Venice like Mestre or Treviso - it's hell.

I expect guidebooks can tell you more about where to go than I can, though.

Any chance the geeklove timeline will be updated soon?

Oh, thank you. i'm glad you like the moodtheme. I do see all comments on my community! It depends how lazy/busy I am feeling as to whether I answer them. I appreciate them all a lot, though, I assure you.

Ahh, I'm staying in Treviso. Oops, heh, it's a money thing. Well I guess I'll just have to chalk it up to being part of the experience. I'm going with just my BF. Might pass on the gondolas. Thanks for the tips either way!

The timeline... Been thinking about it, but TBH, I need to finish my thesis by the 21st. After that's all done I'll get down to it. It'll be up-to-date before the season restarts anyway. :D

Hmmm. Staying on the Lido was about as cheap as staying in Mestre. I think it all depends about where you look and how lucky you are. Hope it works out ok for though though.

I, uh, didn't actually post on your community - I posted on my LJ (mostly because I wanted the people who read my LJ to know where the themes came from).
