In the full-size image you can see additional galaxies in the background that are much farther away and very faint. They look like slightly fuzzy elongated stars at first glance.

One bit of trivia about this galaxy is that one of the largest known supernovas (I think it is actually the largest known) occurred in it a few years ago. It (the supernova) was discovered by a Japanese amateur astronomer which I think is really cool.
