[[Filtered from Lee]]

I can't help but wonder who came up with the idea to repaint the Shirogane as an attack on Lt. Cmdr. Lee. Whomever came up with the idea did not think matters through. Lee is and always has been an extremely strict CO, and I knew from the moment I saw the repainted Shirogane he was going to make punishment for the paint job ( Read more... )

Is that what this is about? I mean, it seemed like a weird color scheme for a battleship, but who knows with you humans.

You're not...? Oh. You're the extraterrestrial who arrived here, aren't you?

Yes, that's exactly what it's about. Pink is seen as an extremely feminine color in human culture. It would be no issue were the Shirogane commanded by a female captain, but as her current captain is male, this was intended to be an attack on his dignity.

Unfortunately, it backfired.

Funny. If you tried that in the Zentraedi army, it'd probably get you ejected into space.

That's rather extreme, though, isn't it?!

Thank you. Seriously, some people needed to hear that.

As foolish as it may sound, I honestly thought that most of the personnel here, immature though they can be, would have had either the maturity to not stoop to that level or the common sense to tell them that this was a very bad idea.

Yeah, it's sad that someone had neither.

I don't like Captain Stickuphisass, but I don't like paying for other people's bullshit, either.

I know how you feel. I disagree with Lee on far too many things. However, if you have issues with him, the practical thing to do would be to report to either Commander Bright or General Hauwsr.

Sounds like he's got a stick up his ass. Don't worry, I'll be good.

Thank you. I'm glad to see there are other responsible personnel on this space station.

A good superior officer should be able to command respect as well, to reduce potential friction with his or her subordinates.

However, the chain of command should still have been respected despite personality clashes.

It's like I told Kittan. I disagree with Lee on many things on how to run an army. In my opinion, treating one's subordinates like disposable weaponry is a bad way to do so.

But still, like you said, they should have followed the chain of command. It should have been common sense to the perpetrators that someone as ruthlessly strict as Lee would come down hard on a stunt like this.

Is he consistent with his thoughts? That is, is he willing to be treated like a disposable weaponry by his own superiors?

He probably considers himself above being expendable because of his rank. And not only is he a lieutenant commander, he's been given one of the three existing Noah-class battleships.
