Pairing: Koyama x Theresa
Summary: Change can be for the better, will hers be for the better or for the worst?

Looking for your destined person might sound a very impossible task, but not for Keiichiro Koyama, his came via air mail and now after months of exchanging letters, they finally met and decided to commit to each other. His destined person was named Theresa, a difference of 5 years in age; both don’t mind the gap as long they’re together. But living in two different countries tested their patience, loyalty and commitment to each other. Koyama was confident that even if their apart, his beloved won’t be involved in someone else. On the other hand, she was not as confident, not for Koyama being true to her, but for herself if she can keep sane without comparing herself with the beautiful people surrounding her boyfriend.
You see she’s not the type of girl you would picture that would be involved with an Idol. As what her friend once said, Koyama’s girlfriend might be one of those girls that belong to a Korean girl group, rather she’s just an ordinary looking girl that weighed on the heavy side. Most of her friends thought she was comfortable with her body and confident in it too. By the way she dresses (read cleavage exposure), no one would think that she’s very much insecure with her type of beauty. When she’s alone, she can’t help but think bad of herself, that she’s not good enough to even call herself as Koyama’s girl.
Of course being a loving boyfriend that Koyama was, he never forgets to reassure her that nothing was wrong with her, and that he’ll always love her no matter how she looks. At times those words work, but most of the time she’ll just smile to stop Koyama from worrying. What brought her confidence down the most is the fact that she can’t make love to him with lights on. Don’t get her wrong, she loves him so much that she spared him the horror (or so she says) and to her credit, she knows his body damn well in the dark (that’s a great feat for someone who’s almost blind in the dark)
“Hon, why won’t you let me see you?” asked Kei as he ran his hands through her hair
“I think for now it’s best for you to feel them rather than to see it” she replied
Koyama knew where their conversation was going and just pulled her closer and whispered to her ear
“You’re beautiful and I love you”
“I love you too” she replied and slowly drifted to dream land
This kind of scenario happens every time they make love, he always reassures her that’s she beautiful and she feels love and the irony in all of this, Theresa was good at making other people feel love and confident about themselves yet she can’t do them same about her self.
A test of sanity came when her boyfriend became a news anchor, had a scheduled butai and to top it all up NEWS had a series of concerts. Which meant less time him, may it be via phone or Skype or whatever means of communication was needed to see/talk to each other. This was one of the drawbacks of an Idol boyfriend, less time with each other, but on the other hand she can play the ever so supportive girlfriend who has his back all the way. Of course this meant more alone time with herself and her negativity. Then one day, after talking to Koyama it made her realize that she’ll have to re-invent herself in time for Koyama’s birthday. And now the transformation commences.
1st month
Theresa searched the net far and wide to find the perfect workout for her that would look like a work out and in the end she turned to dancing and extreme sports. Then she made a list of to-do during the course of her ‘transformation’
• Don’t eat less, eat healthier
• Make peace with veggies
• Stick to the routine
• Weigh self every week
• Don’t forget to call Kei everyday--- SUPER IMPORTANT!
Satisfied with her list, she started sorting out her life to fit all the above mention in her schedule. For the first few days, body pains were so evident that she almost gave up, but pleasing Kei is so important that she ignored every aching part of her body and as they say no pain, no gain.
2nd month
By now, she got use to her routine that did it normally and need not to look at her planner to check out the day’s plan. Also during this month, she started to feel and see the changes and this didn’t go unnoticed by her colleagues, friends and other people, guys in particular. Even though she kept on telling them she’s already taken, the more the men want pursue her. One in specific was one of the regular goers in the gym she enrolled in. the guy’s name was Alex. He was hovering her like a vulture that spotted prey and she was not a bit happy.
“You know there is such a thing that’s called PERSONAL SPACE” said Theresa as she started on the treadmill
“But Babe, you know I can’t get enough of you” replied Alex as he came closer (if that was possible)
“How many times do I have to tell you, stop calling me babe!”
“Not happening, unless…” then a smirk was formed
“Unless what?”
“Unless you go out with me”
“In your dreams!” she retorted and tried to concentrate on the treadmill
“Well then I guess, you’ll just have to get used to me calling you babe, Babe”
She just shook her head and was about to say something else when her phone rang. Koyama was calling.
Hi hon, I miss you
“Honey I miss you too! How are you?” then she eyed Alex to get a move on and give back her space, miraculously he understood and went to other side room but before he did so, he shouted “ See you later babe!” And being a good listener, that didn’t escape Koyama’s ears

She rolled her eyes and knew where this conversation would be going
“Yeah, some annoying guy who kept invading my space”
And you’re entertaining him huh
“Kei, stop before you think of something else”

“No Kei, rest assured nothing is between us okay” she replied slightly panting

And she chose to think out aloud at this time
“I didn’t know talking and doing this would be so exhausting”

“I’m at the gym hon, on the treadmill to be exact” then she decided to shift the conversation “Now I know how you feel doing that talk segment on treadmills”
Oh? You with your friends?
“Nope, I went alone”

“I know”
Hon, I got to go, rehearsal is about to start. Talk to you soon
“Okay, take care of yourself”

After hanging up she got off the treadmill trying to catch her breath and swore that next time her boyfriend calls, she’ll answer after she’s off the treadmill. Who knew talking would be so exhausting!
On the other hand, after Koyama finished talking to his beloved, he made a mistake in leaving his phone unattended for his curious band mates to look into. They’ve all noticed that he’s on the phone on a regular basis, before and after rehearsals, in between locations and they all assumed that their most talkative member was hiding someone from them and it just took a mere 30 seconds to get Theresa’s identity discovered.
3rd Month
The news about Koyama’s alleged girlfriend spread out like a plague and was all over the internet. And being a regular in the World Wide Web, she knew about it the moment the news went online, of course she knew this would happen, but she didn’t expect it to happen too soon. It all started with a simple phone call from who she thought was Koyama, and it turned out to be the rest of NEWS. When you’re in that situation, there’s no point in lying so might as well spill the beans. Unfortunately there were other people in the room, and the news spread from there.
And during a press conference, Koyama was asked about the ‘rumored’ girlfriend, at first people expect him to deny the news, but instead he smiled and answered YES. The other NEWS members couldn’t be happier for their friend; it’s about damn time for him to be happy. The higher ups, didn’t say a word upon the news of Koyama’s girlfriend, they’re pretty confident that his relationship won’t be as attention grabbing if it were Yamapi’s affair that surfaced.
In another country, it’s not only her boyfriend who’s facing a Q&A from people, so was she. Her close friends gathered together and placed her under the spotlight, all they knew she had a Japanese boyfriend, no one told them she had an idol for a boyfriend. She answered the usual who, what, when, where, how, and the occasional ‘have you done it’. Since her sort of secret was out in the open, she let them in on her secret surprise and boy were they surprised. Who knew she’s willing to go to this extent for her boyfriend.
Not everybody was happy for the news, of course haters are going to hate, she knew about the bashing, flaming, heck she even received hate mails from them. She knew they’ll find ways to get in touch with her (her job profile was all over the net), though she told herself not to take these things too seriously but she can’t help it. Their words were too harsh as if they knew everything about her; they knew nothing but a vague impression of her. She never felt so down, a girl only take so much beating of her confidence, she doesn’t want to call Koyama; she’ll just end up crying and as if Koyama has sensed her sadness, even if at an unholy hour of the night he called her, she answered.
Hey did I wake you?
She didn’t answer for a while and Koyama immediately understood what was going on

She answered with a sniff.
I’m sorry Hon, I should have been more careful about our rela-

“No, no it’s not your fault. People were bound to know about it anyway. I’m just glad you didn’t deny me”
He heard his heartbreak when he heard her voice full of sadness

“But I don’t look okay, my eyes are puffy and my nose is red. In short I look ugly.”

Then she heard voices in the background, she distinguished one belonging to Tegoshi asking her boyfriend to show them a picture or something of her

Somehow this man knew how to make her say yes to everything, so she ended the phone call and signed in on SKYPE but she forgot she was wearing something that would make Koyama raise an eyebrow. A cleavage revealing top; when her video came up, at first he was happy to see her then he realized what she was wearing, he immediately covered the screen as the other NEWS members came close
“What are you doing Koyama?” asked Shige as he tried to see what he was hiding and his eyes went wide when he heard an unfamiliar voice.
“Is that her?” asked Massu as he helped Shige to pry away Koyama from the screen
“Kei what are you doing?” asked Theresa as she saw Massu and Shige pulling him away from the screen
“They’re going to see you!”
“But isn’t that the point you want this video con?”
“Yes, but they’re going to see you” stressing on something she still can’t figure out
After much pulling, Massu and Shige finally got Kei off the screen, Tegoshi, Ryo and Yamapi sat in front of the monitor and greeted the other person

“Hi, hope I’m not bothering you guys”

And out of the blue, Ryo said something that caught Kei’s ears
“Koyama’s lucky to have a girlfriend like you, a pretty lady and very blessed too”
Finally Koyama freed himself from Massu and Shige and tried to cover the monitor once again.
“I know where you’re looking Ryo” he warned but just gain a smirk from the Sexy Osaka Man
Amidst Koyama’s antics, they heard a laugh on Theresa’s end and by the time Koyama looked at the screen his beloved though puffy eyed looked very radiant and damn right sexy and it took a while to say something.
“So that’s why you’re acting like that” then she stood up revealing the entirety of her clothing showing her body in progress. She already shed off some weight and some inches around her tummy. Still not stick thin, but that won’t happen. Clad in her short nighties she had all the men in the room had their eyes fixed on the monitor.
Their eyes following her every move as she took a jacket hanging nearby and wore it to cover up, much to the other NEWS’ members dismay and Koyama’s relief. He stays firm on his belief that what stays in the bedroom stays in the bedroom. Though he himself hadn’t seen his girl dress liked that but that’s another story. While she’s busy with her jacket, Ryo was nudging Koyama as if channeling his perverted idea in which Koyama tried to dismiss, hell he’d wanted to hold her since the day they were separated. When she came back, Koyama was busy glaring at Ryo while the said person just grinned like an idiot. Satisfied that he can elicit that kind of reaction from a usually ‘wholesome’ Koyama
Then random conversation resumed, the NEWS members threw questions at her and to their surprise she answered them well, like a seasoned pro and right there they knew Koyama found the right girl.
“Will you be visiting Kei-chan soon?” asked Tegoshi as took his turn to ask questions
“Well that’s a plan, but I’m still tied up with work. So let’s see what happens.”
“You and Kei-chan are very busy people”
“I should say the same” and then out of nowhere she yawned
Koyama looked at the clock and it was almost sunrise, he was surprised at how time flew and how little time he spent talking to her because of his much eager band mates. He had to force his friends to stop yapping let her get some sleep which the other just dismissed saying it was alright, she wasn’t that sleepy and she’ll have to get ready for work and that earned her an earful of rants from her boyfriend.
“I’ll have a power nap in the office later, don’t worry. See you soon hon, take care”
And the call ended.
The sleep finally caught up with the rest of NEWS after the call ended. All of them made a common conclusion that Koyama found the right girl. They just hope she’s for keeps.
4th month - TRANSFORMATION COMPLETE
The change in body type was very evident, finally reached the ideal weight for her height (though she still looks thick but hey she still got her boobs and butt) and finally she can call herself beautiful. She had the instinct to call Koyama and tell him the good news; luckily she was reminded that it was supposed to be a surprise. It was during this time when guys were hot on her trail, leave her alone and some random guy would approach her and hit on her. Sometimes she would play along, sometimes she won’t. Depends on her mood and it was during this time that she has to put her plans into action. She secretly got in contact with Shige which the other was surprised that she knew his number to get the ball rolling.

When she came back, Koyama was busy glaring at Ryo while the said person just grinned like an idiot. Satisfied that he can elicit that kind of reaction from a usually ‘wholesome’ Koyama
Then random conversation resumed, the NEWS members threw questions at her and to their surprise she answered them well, like a seasoned pro and right there they knew Koyama found the right girl.
“Will you be visiting Kei-chan soon?” asked Tegoshi as took his turn to ask questions
“Well that’s a plan, but I’m still tied up with work. So let’s see what happens.”
“You and Kei-chan are very busy people”
“I should say the same” and then out of nowhere she yawned
Koyama looked at the clock and it was almost sunrise, he was surprised at how time flew and how little time he spent talking to her because of his much eager band mates. He had to force his friends to stop yapping let her get some sleep which the other just dismissed saying it was alright, she wasn’t that sleepy and she’ll have to get ready for work and that earned her an earful of rants from her boyfriend.
“I’ll have a power nap in the office later, don’t worry. See you soon hon, take care”
And the call ended.
The sleep finally caught up with the rest of NEWS after the call ended. All of them made a common conclusion that Koyama found the right girl. They just hope she’s for keeps.
4th month - TRANSFORMATION COMPLETE
The change in body type was very evident, finally reached the ideal weight for her height (though she still looks thick but hey she still got her boobs and butt) and finally she can call herself beautiful. She had the instinct to call Koyama and tell him the good news; luckily she was reminded that it was supposed to be a surprise. It was during this time when guys were hot on her trail, leave her alone and some random guy would approach her and hit on her. Sometimes she would play along, sometimes she won’t. Depends on her mood and it was during this time that she has to put her plans into action. She secretly got in contact with Shige which the other was surprised that she knew his number to get the ball rolling.
“How did you - “
“Know your number? From your girlfriend of course”
“Ah sou--- you know Sarah?!”
“Yup and I also know that you’ve been together for quite sometime now”
Shige was lost for words. He was at her mercy
“So what can I do for you?”
“I’m planning a birthday surprise for Kei, so I need your help to organize it as well as the others”
“What do you have in mind?”
“I’ll tell you guys everything when I get there”
“Great! When are you coming here?”
“Last week of April”
“Does he have any clue that you’re coming?”
“Nope, haven’t spoken to him yet since 3 weeks ago. So anyhow, I’ll just send you the address of where I’m going to stay while I’m there. I’ll be in touch. Ja”
Shige on the other hand just blinked thinking what the hell just happened. He rubbed his temples trying to figure things out, but gave up and it’ll be clear to him sometime soon
After the call, she on the other hand, rummaged through her wardrobe to look for a certain dress she was itching to wear since the day she and Koyama bought it
Summer of 2009
Koyama and Theresa were at a local mall window shopping when she spots a simple red cocktail dress that had her wishing she was the mannequin. She was so focused on the dress that Koyama had to snap her out of it
“What are you looking at?”
“That dress, I’ve wanted that dress for god knows how long, but too bad they don’t have my size”
“You’ll look good in that dress” replied Koyama as if he already pictured how she would look like wearing it
“I know I will, that’s why I want---“But before she could finish, Koyama was already at the store, bought the dress, went out and handed it to her
“Wear it for me, when you fit in it” whispered Koyama that left her speechless. His voice was a mixture of seduction and challenge… and she liked it
From that day on, she promised herself THAT SHE WILL FIT IN THAT DRESS NO MATTER WHAT
“And today is that day” she said to no one in particular, as she got the dress and tried it on. She felt her heart pound in her chest, her hand shook in anxiety; she closed her eyes, took a deep breath, open her eyes and felt like crying, the dress fit her to the T and she got three words to describe what she saw
OH. HOT. DAMN.
