is it too late?

I've decided that I'm going to stay in my current apartment for awhile so I'm thinking I'll start a container garden. Is it too late for a planting? If so, what would you suggest planting? I'm not sure what's best for the colder months. I'd like to plant some veggies and herbs primarily, though some flowers would be nice to pretty up the

Actually right now is the BEST time to plant. Because our winters are gentle, there's no danger of frost - the only things you don't want outdoors are the uber-fragile tropicals, such as, oh, I dunno, pitcher plants or something. :P Roses, too, may not be the best things to plant either, because they are expensive at this time of year.

This is assuming of course that you don't live up in Big Bear where there is actually a frost.

Anyway, plants will use this time to develop good root systems, so that when the spring hits they will take off like nothing else. I just planted an herb container garden, myself. Plant away!

Me TOO!!! I actually have papewhites in bloom! I'm glad I'm not the only one whose bulbs came up early this year. I was kind of worried about how early they were! Most of mine are in the ground tho.
