Roses.

So I am parting with my beloved rose bushes. The Lavender Pinocchio picked up some aphids and powdery mildew, and it'd just break my heart to see it succumb to disease. I know it will if this keeps up; the landlord's sprinklers have been getting the leaves wet (conversely without getting the soil wet enough to do any good) and there really isn't ( Read more... )

Hi, I'm interested in the Marilyn Monroe. If it's still available, please let me know! I'm mostly free to pick up in the early mornings, or the weekend.

You're first in line! FYI, the Marilyn Monroe is in a pot with the Lagerfeld and Blue Sky Vine. (When both roses are in bloom, it's quite a sight!) If that's OK, toss me an email at manawlf(at)gmail(dot)com. Saturday, Sunday, whatever. :)

Yeah, but it's gotten real bedraggled. :( I'm looking into hardier plants at the moment; my garden is so small that little signs of neglect or disease make a big difference. The roses simply aren't doing well; if I want them to live, I'll have to give them up. *sigh*

On the other hand, this gives me a chance to investigate obtaining a butterfly bush, which I've always wanted.

If you're looking for hardier plants, maybe you should consider some native wildflowers. Some are actually pretty showy, and once you've got them established they pretty much take care of themselves.

www.larnerseeds.com - this seed carrier has all native wildflowers, shrubs, grasses, and trees with pictures and descriptions.

So totally bookmarked.

I've been looking a lot into native or like-zone plants (i.e., from South Africa). California lilac's a favorite ATM. :3
