I've made up crazier things to get myself out of jury duty which is what i'm sure these folks did as well...

When I got called for jury duty, I just told the plaintiff (in a personal injury case) that I was strongly opposed to awarding pain and suffering damages for various reasons. Needless to say I was the first he chose to boot off. Just threaten the lawyer's pocketbook ... that's the fastest way off. ;-)

Just tell the judge that you think one of the parties or lawyers is a total hottie ... and you think you'd have distracting daydreams during trial. Haha.
