You sound exactly like me, when last year i quit my job without having another full time job lined up and without letting everyone around me know what my plan was, i just kindof... left. I realized a lot of painful consequences such as confused people in my life like family and friends who suggest things like applying to every job or asking me "what i want to be when i grow up"-type questions, as if quitting your job without having another one is a game and not stepping into a crisis. Who knows, maybe I'm the first one in my pack to do something like quit a job or people just dont like giving honest free advice, or i could blame myself for not being more outgoing. Either way, my life really started to suck when everything started to revolve around myself and my panic to make ends meet. It's not fun... Take the first job you're offered (you've come far enough to apply and interview- you might as well!) and use it for everything it's worth-- weather that means getting yourself in the motion of "going to work" and being a part of your
( ... )
I know exactly how you feel. I HATE working for others. I get panic attacks and start feeling claustrophobic at the thought of being stuck in one place for a long time. And the thought of having to deal with ungrateful ppl who could care less about how you feel is even worse! I quit a job a while back where I too was an admin assistant and I just couldn't take the bull anymore. If you read my lj you'll see what I'm doing now to earn money but I don't recommend it...it's just something I'm doing to get by til I figure out what I'm gonna do as far as a real job goes.
At least for now school keeps me busy....
But yeah, you definitely aren't alone in experiences like this.
Sorry to hear about your job experience. If the people working there have to make fun of you for using highlighters, wow, they must be some real douche bags with no lives. I feel for you, as I have experienced the same thing in the past when I had taken some jobs at places that were downright dysfunctional. It took me a long time to stop internalizing it (and it did not help having a super-critical mother who's pounce on it too). I wish you well in lining up other work soon.
