Agreed, not sure what's funny about scrotal cancer either.

This is actually a rather famous piece of epidemiology. I believe it was the first time that an association was made between environmental exposures and carcinogenesis.

Percival Pott himself is also rather famous. He was an 18th century surgeon with a number of eponymous diseases.

There's Pott's tumor, the scrotal cancer you've mentioned.
There's Pott's Puffy Tumor, which is scalp swelling caused by underlying osteomyelitis of the skull.
Pott's disease is tuberculous lesions of the spine. It causes a kyphosis termed Pott's curvature, and it can also cause a compressive paraplegia called Pott's paraplegia.
Pott's fracture is an open compound fracture of the ankle at the tibia and fibula.
Pott's aneurysm is an arteriovenous aneurysm.

Phew. Busy man.
Pott's gangrene is gangrene of the toes and feet due to arterial insufficiency in the elderly.

You have to wonder what was it about these men (I'm also talking to you Paget!) that they couldn't share the naming love around!

Those poor chimney sweeps, as if they didn't have enough to deal with.
