Just a quick thank you to all of you who helped me with my research! Your answers to my questionnaire(s) are much appreciated.
I don't have much time right now updating my LJ since I'm busy writing my thesis (actually I'm not busy, I'm panicking, ha) but I will let you know about my results asap.

1. How did you encounter fan fiction for the first time and what made you write your own fan stories? Were you influenced by a particular story or author?
I wrote fanfictions long before I knew the name. I've always played RPG-like conversations with my sister and sometimes I wrote stories inspired by that afterwards. Then, when I found out there were so many stories of that kind on the Internet, I was totally amazed.
2. What, in your opinion, makes a good (Harry Potter) fan fiction?
Good characterization, like in every story.
2a. What do you think about Mary Sues?
I think the word is overused (it annoys me when it's used for canon characters) and what bothers me more about them is that potential readers tend to avoid stories featuring original characters, assuming they would be Mary Sues.
2b. How do you choose a story to read on http://www.fanfiction.net (e.g.summary, favorite pairing or genre/ using the search panel, having ( ... )
